Weekends Taste Better Here

Your weekend fun Columbia SC forecast

Some weeks are a blur. Others give you the kind of moments that linger — a perfect meal, a sidewalk chat, the kind of light that makes even your errands feel cinematic. This week in Columbia, I found beauty in the rhythm, goodbyes that felt like love letters, and enough flavor to make a girl forget to take a single photo. Here’s a peek inside the week that was — and a guide to the weekend that’s calling your name.

Friday at Ratio: A Soft Goodbye

Friday night took me and Mr Nash to Ratio for what we lovingly called our “this isn’t goodbye, it’s see-you-soon”dinner. The beloved spot is going on hiatus, so we gathered around tapas and cocktails and the best mocktails for one last round. The food was incredible (as always), the conversation even better — and somehow, not one of us remembered to take a selfie. Which means it was perfect.

Monday Self-Care & SIPP Stops

I kicked off Monday with a little self-love: my monthly facial at Lexington Aesthetics, which left me feeling fresh, glowy, and ready for anything. Afterward, I made a stop at SIPP in Irmo — a healthy shake and tea spot with Britney Spears quotes on the cups and the kind of vibe that’s equal parts energizing and totally Instagrammable. It’s playful, it’s fun, and it might just become your new post-facial tradition too.

Oh, Wait I almost forgot about my late Lunch at Ramblin Mule: The Codfather Rules

Oh and on last Saturday after my mother’s day open house at 453 Tulip Way in Lexington, I made my way to Ramblin Mule in Lexington for a late lunch. Comfort food with amazing service — and The Codfather, which lived up to every bit of its name. Crispy, flavorful, and absolutely worth the drive. If you haven’t made time to check them out yet, this is your sign. It’s boat club season so this may be the spot after a day on the Tipsy Turtle!

What’s Happening This Weekend in Columbia (May 16–18)

Now that you know where I’ve been, here’s where you might want to go:

  • 🎤 Jerry Seinfeld at the Township Auditorium (Friday)
Clean comedy. Classic timing. One iconic night. ( fun fact- Mr Nash can be scene one camera sitting front row at a Jerry Seinfeld special back when he used to work for Universal Records - he’s so cool)

  • 🎶 The Queens! at Colonial Life Arena (Friday)
Four powerhouse vocalists, one unforgettable show.

  • 🍴 Taste of Black Columbia (Friday) + Columbia Black Expo (Saturday)
A celebration of culture, creativity, and community with food you’ll be talking about for days.

  • 🚚 SC Food Truck & Craft Beer Festival (Saturday)
Roll up hungry and get ready to sample from the state’s best food trucks and breweries.

  • 🛍️ Soda City Market (Saturday, 9 AM–1 PM)
Columbia’s Main Street comes alive every Saturday morning. From handmade goods to local produce, street performers to cold brew on tap, Soda City is where the heart of the city beats loudest. Come early, bring a tote, and don’t leave without trying something you've never heard of.

  • 🎭 Neil Simon’s Rumors at Town Theatre (All Weekend)
A fast-paced farce that turns miscommunication into masterful comedy. A must-see.

Where to Dine (and Stay a While)

  • The Hollow – Forest-to-table flavors, dreamy interiors, and cocktails made with foraged ingredients. It’s giving grown-up fairy tale.

  • Motor Supply Co. Bistro – A Vista landmark for good reason. Seasonal menus, local produce, and perfect patio energy.

  • Lula Drake – Romantic, rare wines and tiny plates in a big-hearted space on Main.

  • Il Giorgione – The courtyard, the wine, the wood-fired crust… Devine Street dining at its best.

  • Tupelo Honey – A comfort-food classic in BullStreet with just the right twist of modern.

Until the Next Bite…

Columbia’s got a little something for every kind of weekender — whether you’re chasing flavor, culture, connection, or just a quiet spot to enjoy a shake and the sunshine.

If you see me out this weekend, say hi. I’ll be the one forgetting to take a selfie... again.
